Prabuddhanagar, Panchsheel Nagar, Bhimnagar : UP gets three new districts
Prabuddhanagar comprises Muzaffarnagar’s Shamli and Kairana tehsils, and Panchsheel Nagarconsists of Ghaziabad’s Hapur, Garhmukteshwar and Dhaulana tehsils.
Carved out of Moradabad district, Bhimnagar includes Sambhal, Chandausi and Gunnaur tehsils. After these additions, UP will have 75 districts.
She also announced her government’s decision to upgrade Dhaulana as a new tehsil.
The Chief Minister began her state-wide tour by visiting Shamli in Muzaffarnagar, Hapur in Ghaziabad and Sambhal in Moradabad and announced her decision to make these places the headquarters of the newly created districts.
She said there would be no change in the name of Hapur town.
Mayawati also used the opportunity to play her old card, demanding division of Uttar Pradesh into three separate states — Pashchimanchal, Purvanchal and Bundelkhand.
The Chief Minister had earlier written letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, demanding creation of three separate states.
She told the gathering at all three places that she has always favoured the creation of three separate states by dividing the state and underlined the need for the reconstitution of Uttar Pradesh for this purpose.
The CM said the creation of separate states is the Centre’s domain, adding both the Congress and BJP did not take any step in this regard during their tenures.
Reiterating her demand for reservation to Muslims and poor among upper castes as well as inclusion of Jats in the central list of other backward classes, Mayawati said she favoured an increase in the quota of OBCs and SCs. She also demanded reservation for these communities in the judiciary and private sectors.
Justifying her decision to create smaller districts, she said: “The idea of smaller units was propagated by leaders like Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Jyotirao Phule.”
She also said smaller administrative units help maintain law and order, besides ensuring development.
Mayawati said she took the decision after she surveyed the state of development in all existing 72 districts of the state.
“It was found that the Ghaziabad district was far too big for administrative efficiency. The rural areas of Hapur were not benefiting in terms of development, so this decision has been taken.” She said the move would allow the Ghaziabad Development Authority to concentrate on a smaller area, mostly urban and industrial.
Coming down hard on the central government, the Chief Minister said the Centre had not been cooperating with the BSP’s efforts to develop Uttar Pradesh.
“We asked for a economic package of Rs 8,000 crore in 2007 but that request was turned down. In spite of that, the state government has carried out a lot of development activities.”
Mayawati also inspected police stations and tehsil offices. “During her visit to the Hapur police station, she expressed her unhappiness for not keeping the premises clean,” a government statement said.
The statement said the CM took a serious view of the absence of mobile numbers of complainants in the tehsil register. At Shambhal and Shamli, she reviewed the implementation of various government schemes.
Insiders said the CM has started giving special focus to western UP where the BSP is facing trouble in the wake of land acquisition. “Her decision to upgrade Shambhal as Bhimnagar district would help her woo Muslim voters. This is a politically right decision before the 2012 Assembly elections,” a source in the BSP said.
Sources in the government said she would visit Kanpur, Auraiya and Ramabai Nagar on September 30.
Hapur residents were elated. Harish Yadav, who was part of the Hapur Sangharsh Samiti, said, “We have been making this demand for a separate district since 1976. Now that it has come true, maybe the region will get some attention. It has been ignored for far too long.”
New DMs in new districts
The state government on Wednesday posted District Magistrates in the three newly created districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Pragyan Ram Mishra has been posted as DM of Bhimnagar, Ajay Kumar Singh is DM of Prabuddhanagar and Saurabh Babu has been made the DM of Panchsheel Nagar.
The government has also transferred three other IAS officers. Nitishwar Kumar has been made Managing Director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Board, Raj Shekhar is DM of Jalaun and Sunita Chaturvedi is DM of Balrampur.

"Elephant"
"Elephant", the election symbol of BSP
……There is an inherent great meaning in the election symbol of BSP. The "Elephant". This election symbol of BSP represents the large and giant population of the “Bahujan Samaj" like the elephant. And the "Blue Flag" of the party represents the soothing blue sky. It shows that then sky does not discriminate anybody on the basis on caste, creed, rich, and poor and treat people with full equality. It also signifies peace and tranquility, which is certainly not available to mankind on this earth planet. That's why theBSP wants to create an atmosphere of justice and peace here and now on this earth, like the sky. The BSP thereby means that it wants to see a just, humanistic and equality-based social and economic order, which would serve the interest of all the sections of the Society. Considering all these, the BSP had chosen“Elephant" as its election symbol and "Blue" color as its flag.

Six SP MLAs defect to BSP to 'serve people'
The five SP MLAs who have defected to the ruling BSP are Sarvesh SIngh MLA from Sagr constituency in Azamgarh, Sultan Beg MLA from Kawar constituency in Bareilly, Ashok Kumar Singh Chandel from Hamirpur, Sandeep Agarwal from Moradabad, Sundar Lal Lodhi from Hadha constituency in Unnao and Suraj Singh Shakya from Kanshiram Nagar.
The move is being seen as BSP reply to SP. While MLAs are defecting after being denied ticket by their parties for the assembly elections due next year in April-May, by engineering defections, the political parties are trying to give impression that the poll mood is in their favour.
Significantly, three BSP MLAs and several other leaders have defected to SP since May this year. Those who have joined SP include BSP MLA from Mallawa in Hardoi, Satish Verma, BSP MLA from Masauli in Barabanki district, Farid Mefhooz Kidwai and BSP MLA from Jalalpur, Ambedkarnagar, Sher Bahadur Singh.
All the turncoats enjoyed their term as MLA for four-and-a-half years and now after being denied election tickets, they all suddenly realised that their parent party is 'suffocating'. They all said that they have defected to 'serve the people'.

India's top 10 women politicians
http://specials.rediff.com/getahead/2009/mar/06slid6-indias-most-influential-women.htm
Love her or hate her, you can't ignore politician Mayawati. The CM of Uttar Pradesh started life off in humble surroundings, the daughter of a Dalit telecommunications clerk in Delhi. Securing bachelor's degrees in Law and Education, she became a teacher before joining the Bahunjan Samaj Party in 1984 and switching to fulltime politics. The BSP, which sought to represent the Dalits, has become a political force to be reckoned with in the last few years and many are of the opinion that she will be the nation's next prime minister. Today, Mayawati is the highest income tax-paying politician in India, shelling out Rs 26 crore per year and is closing in on Sonia Gandhi onForbes' list of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women -- she weighed in at number 59 as of 2008.
Life lesson from Mayawati:
Turn your perceived weaknesses into strengths; the lower down you start, the higher you'll climb.

No one can ignore Mayawati -- that is for sure.
Many foresee her as the next prime minister. The BSP chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is keeping her cards close to her chest.
Has not committed any poll deals with any party. But she will set terms to the Third Front if she gets a lion's share of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Karat struck a deal with Maya, but it fell apart later.
No one can ignore Maya -- that is for sure.

Let’s take Credit for Slums!
“Success has many fathers & failure has none!” – English Saying.
A day before I saw two pigs fighting for taking credit that I have made the place dirtier, but the second one was saying no, it’s not you but it’s me who had made this place dirtier, I have pissed more than you.
Winning 8 OSCAR, UPA Govt. counts in the list of “UPA’s Achievements” (for providing “Danny Boyle” slums!)
All the politicians are feeling proud & why shouldn’t they take credit for what they have nourished from last 60 years (or say last 1000s years!)? I do agree that all these politicians along with Mumbai Mayors should have been nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” category! As you all know keeping slums is how much difficult in this recession period! Major credit of OSCAR should go to many of our dedicated politicians, without their dedicated efforts of disgusting corruption; such condition of slums wouldn’t be possible.
I don’t think heads of these politicians will bow in shame when common people are living in slums. Rather than taking some efforts to give education to slum people, giving security, providing them with good houses these politicians are fighting for taking credit that see we have created slums & we won OSCAR for it! Let’s create more slums so as next time we give clean sweep to rest of world at OSCAR awards? Or I think next credit these politicians will take for Mumbai attacks that in our regime there were more terrorist attacks.
Same pigs I saw were again fighting over taking credit for fighting against terrorism. 1st pig said in my regime in whole country there were more than 85 bomb blasts in 6 months. 2nd pig claimed sees you have failed, in my regime there was a big Kargil War (1000s were killed, still wives, mothers of those heroes can’t believe that their husbands/sons are no more)! 2nd pig didn’t stopped here, he continued to claim see in the states where I am ruling like in Orissa we killed thousands innocent Christians, in Bihar just because of our dedicated corrupt efforts there was flood in Kosi river, in Karnataka we attacked on innocent women in ‘Pub” (In England it means nothing but a “Public House”, where people meet & have some refreshment but these pigs have misunderstood this as brothel) as we are the real supporters of Hindu culture, this all we made possible only through inefficiency & unlawfulness!
1st pig in my regime I made possible killing of Sikhs, 2nd pig replied in my regime I made possible killing of Christians, Muslims. (Forget about the condition of Dalits both pigs can take equal credit).
1st pig didn’t stopped here & how can he stop when there are many much things to take credit for? He said in my regime the number of children suffering from malnutrition went up from 15.5% to 19.1% while the number of kids under five with anemia rose from 74.2% to 79.2% though we have doubled the child specific schemes. Credit for this also goes to our dedicated corrupt, cunning politicians. 2nd pig was hopeful that they will be given chance in next elections to improve this tally & then he’ll see the 1st pig. Isn’t shameful that still millions children are deprived of their rights, food, security & health.
1st pig is tackling 2nd pig through “Bharat Nirman” that after coming again in power I’ll give cheap food to everyone (no need to give education & jobs as I am going to give 2kg rice free per month!). 2nd pig claimed that after coming to power i’ll run Rath Yatra throughout India, i’ll provide trishuls to everyone (so as they can kill Christians, Muslims, and Dalits easily), I’ll start Surya Namaskar in schools, (I’ll bring superstitious to schools), bring astrology to schools then everyone will get job!
I was stunned how these pigs are fighting & I preferred to leave those pigs fighting…come back to slums…
OSCAR winning movie showed clearly that children being tortured, forced into begging profession (highly paid!) in addition to all other evils like corrupt police force, brothels etc. Does 1st pig take credit for all of these?
People in slums are living in unimaginable poverty, stop taking credit for all these & work for improvement.
There were many more issues on which pigs wanted to take credit for, but till that time their landlord appeared & both disappeared! Anyhow pigs will continue fighting & it’s time for all of us to think, do we want to see these pigs in parliament again? Think logically & this time VOTE FOR CHANGE!
“Life is yours, choice is yours”!
Jai HO! (Salute to our politicians!)
